Last Minute Christmas Craft {for home or school}

I was contacted by Spangler and they offered to give me a pack of Dum Dums and Candy Canes.  WHOA! They weren't kidding! Thank you so much Spangler! Look at what they sent me:

I decided to do a holiday craft with my kiddos that I found on their website {here}!

We cut a slit in the reindeer and stuck in the Dum Dum. Then, we taped down the candy canes to cardstock and glued on the reindeer head.  They turned out darling and my students oohhed and ahhhed over them!
You can download the pattern for free {here}!

Check out Spangler TODAY for some cute crafts and great pins on Pinterest!!!!!

After doing our craft, we learned about Caribou {reindeer}.  I posted these last year and I thought I'd show you them again. :)  Enjoy!!

Adding Ten

Can you believe this isn't a Christmas post?  We are *actually* doing "regular" math around here {even though I'd much rather be sorting green and red M&M's}.

We've been practicing counting by tens, place value, and adding only one ten to a decade number.
For this partner game, I have my kiddos use plastic plates and dry-erase markers.  One partner puts an amount of tens cubes in the left spot and only one in the right side.  The other partner writes the number sentence.

And then we did this quick assessment:

What I love most about this is that it can be adapted to so many things... addition, missing partners, subtraction, place value, and so much more! Thank you to my old teammate, Jessica for the great idea {Miss you, Jess}!
Have a great week!  We are still in school until the 21st. :)

Tech the Halls {What iWant for Christmas}

You might have seen {this} post by sweet Reagan.  She sent me her Techy Santa Pack and I told her we MUST do bulletin boards with the name "Tech the Halls". I love a good play on words! ;)

My kiddos loved the craft!  I think next year I will scale it down {maybe resize it on the copy machine} so I can fit more on my bulletin board.  Our head custodian is not loving the ones that are stapled on the sides. HA! The glasses are TOO cute and my kiddos tried to wear them around the classroom!

Go check out Reagan's packet!  And if you'd like the letters for your bulletin board,
